Intake Process
If you believe your child may benefit from services at The SMILE Center, please give us a call at 212-400-0383. You will speak to an intake coordinator who will take some background information and help you to set up an initial intake meeting with our director. This meeting will be adults only - there should not be children present as we do not like to talk about the children within their earshot. At your intake meeting, you will discuss the concerns you are having and your goals for therapy, and learn a bit more about our practice. You will discuss options for your child and receive help determining the best next steps. After this meeting, you will speak with the front desk regarding availability for scheduling. We are not able to schedule services prior to this initial meeting because of the customized care that we provide, and because each child is unique and their needs are different. For example, sometimes after speaking with a parent, our director will have a specific clinician in mind for the treatment/evaluation, so we need to wait until afterwards to ensure we are making an appropriate child/therapist match. There is no cost for the intake meeting - it is a service we provide in order to ensure care is customized to your child.
